Berkdrums Maneki Neko on Bandcamp!! For me, it can’t get much better!!! ‘Auracle’ appeared on my radar around the time of it’s release or a little later, when ambient became my main style of music that I would listen to.. Being a drummer / percussionplayer almost my entire life made me drift more towards beatless music.. Maybe a combination of filling my days and nights with rhythm, and with that the need for music without any rhtyhm! And also growing into the need for more spirituality, peace inside myself and music that can comfort, and soothe my soul.. David Sylvian’s ambient works, Brian Eno with Harold Budd and other artists like that were already among my favorites in that genre, but all of a sudden it was as if I was being pulled into the ambient-musicworld more and more.. don’t know if Bandcamp already existed but I was mostly searching on Amazon for new music, and it became an addiction really.. Then out of nowhere, Maneki Neko came on my radar, through Amazon.. Still to this day (year 2019), these albums are among my alltime favorite ambient-works ever made! To me a perfect combination of drifting, peaceful clouds of drones, soundpads, with beautiful melodic themes and melancholic melodies on top that just enter my soul each and every listen! The flute-playing and sounds are amazing, and so are the fieldrecordings, singing bowls, bell-sounds... This is truly a masterpiece in it’s totallity and an album that I think should be in the collection of every ambient-aficionado out there!!!!

about

Auracle was created to calm the mind and body. The music invites you to slow down and relax in its ambient textures. Let your mind revitalize in these sonic environments.

"If Brian Eno's name were switched with Maneki Neko's in the credits of Auracle, it wouldn't be noticed. Not because no one's listening, but rather because the ethereal soundscapes produced by Maneki Neko...parallel Eno's ambient Thursday Afternoon, Music for Airports. Yet here, Eno's experimental tack is supplanted by Mikula's spiritual searching. Melodies emit from prayer bells, gongs, and reed and bamboo flutes, while layers of drones and synth splashes build the filo dough foundation. Not surprising given its name, "Drifting Between Stars" hits like Eno/Lanois/Eno's Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks, whereas "The Road to Madurai" sounds like an outtake from Peter Gabriel's soundtrack to The Last Temptation of Christ..."
Austin Chronicle, review by David Lynch

"The sound design is exquisite and allows for sharp focus with free-form expression... This is an excellent CD from a newcomer to the community. It approaches, achieves and supersedes greatness." Awareness Magazine, review by Jim Brenholts

"Auracle is meditation music at it's grandest. There's something about this music that goes beyond words." Innerchange Magazine, review by Ron Rudin

"This is meditative music at its finest, a musical revelation that will delight those looking for unique yoga music or an introspective backdrop for meditation or healing." Mysteries Magazine, review by Richard Mackenzie
